Finally all blocked down and ready to go to the painters

Now that all the gaps and panels are sorted I have removed light fittings and chrome and can start the preparation and blocking down of all the panels.

Door alignment is good and they open and close very easily and smoothly.

Time spent getting  the surface smooth and free of blemishes will pay off, now is the time to get it all right, once its painted  its a bit late. it just become a lot more work and money to get right.
Boot alignment is as good as factory.

Bottom valance panels are always tricky to get square as there are no real adjustments. If I have still enough time I may try to work on this edge a bit more.

Finally all blocked down and ready to go to the painters
My arms are ready to drop off after so much wet and dry sanding then more spray filler then more sanding.
What a work out.

I have applied a guide coat to ensure that all is straight before the final colour and clear coats are applied professionally.
I decided to get a professional painter to apply the final coats because of the poisons in the paint and also the paint booth will produce a better dust free coat.

Wheels,Tyres & hubcaps etc

I made up a good sets of original Spinner hub caps and wire wheel trims by using parts from several different sets

Some had really good  hub caps some had better centres or spinners.

Two of the hubcaps were dated 31 st July 1964

Some of my hubcap collection

I painted the wheels in red oxide primer after they had been sandblasted.

This is a set of 1967 Wire wheel Trims

These are original 1965 wires and standard caps.

Wheels were spray painted then clear coated and new white wall tyres fitted.

Searching Trademe and ebay I managed to source and original jack and handle and lug wrench.

This jack was made by Ryerson & Haynes in Jackson Michigan stamped with an RH

This Wrench is stamped A made by AUSCO (Auto Specialites Manufacturing Company) in St Joseph Michigan

Originally these jacks and wrenches were dipped in paint and had runs in the paint.

New Carburetor from Classic inlines

I couldn't seem to get the original carburetor to tune up properly, even after cleaning and installing a rebuild kit, so I decided to order a rebuilt carb from Classic Inlines on the internet

What a difference put a new filter on it and hooked it up and it worked perfectly from the get go.

What a Masterpiece!!!

Just did some minor tune up adjustments and it idled perfectly.

I would recommend Classic Inlines see www.classicinlines.com

Had a small hesitation when reving up the motor, I checked the timing, still couldn't get rid of it and finally decided to order a new throttle return spring  from Virginia Classic Mustang, and believe it or not that made the difference no hesitation.
