Finishing touches to the Dash

The way the dash was when I got the car.
It was not bad just faded and a few scratches, all the chrome was dull  and chrome on speedo had worn away. see below.

The old black paint was a bit scratched and faded, but the dash was in good condition and no one had chopped into it to add a bigger stereo thankfully.

The original dash had a fair amount of glue which had to be cleaned off.

Once the painting was finished I reinstalled all the dash wiring and switches

The old vents had perished so had to be sorted the ducting was still good so that was reused as replacement ducting is round not square like the originals.

Here the ducting and new radio speaker same as original spec is installed.

The speaker grill needs some new paint as it to was flaking away, vent was in good condition.

The screen moldings are always tricky and you have to trim away the dash material otherwise it doesn't sit flush against the rubber.
This dash had been replaced at some time and had not been trimmed half the screws did not meet up with the holes and you could see foam backing under the dash showing when you looked through the screen from the outside

All sitting pretty just need to install the new chrome indicator stalk.
